Day-by-Day Itinerary: 6-Day Honeymoon Tour with Hot Air Balloon Experience

Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park

You’ll be picked up at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive. Tanzania’s third-largest national park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park, which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here, you may see lions, leopards, cheetahs, lesser kudus, buffalos, oryx, elands, giraffes, and zebras. Post the game drive, you will head back to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.

Accommodation: Suricata Boma Lodge a mid-range lodge located 1-2 hr drive from Tarangire National Park

Day 2: Serengeti National Park

After finishing up a good breakfast, you will head out towards the Serengeti National Park and travel amid the never-ending plain grasslands. The Serengeti is arguably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. A picnic lunch will be done during the day-long game drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation with an amazing sundown view. This place is the most beautiful ever.

Accommodation: Land of Nature Camp—a mid-range tented camp located inside Central Serengeti NP

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

You’ll start your full-day game drive by 8;00 AM after a filling breakfast, you will explore the central portion of the Serengeti National Park today. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti —known as the Seronera area—is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and, therefore, attracts wildlife well-representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. During the off-season of the migration, one must look out for the many lion pride that thrive in this region. The interactions and survival of these lion prides provide an excellent wildlife-viewing experience all year round. Along with a picnic lunch during the full-day game drive, the day will come to a close by around 5 PM. The long day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.

Main Destination: Serengeti National Park
Accommodation: Misako Serengeti Camp a luxury tented camp located inside Western Serengeti NP
Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro

You’ll wake up early in the morning enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy a hot balloon ride. Then, you’ll leave with a packed breakfast to make sure you will not stay hungry so that you can enjoy the game drive while you are comfortable. Here, you will have a great chance to see hunting because predators are more active during the night and early morning. They hunt a lot at that time. You’ll drive out of central Serengeti to the east, looking for lions on the rock and many other animals (remember we drive to the controlled area out of a crowd of another safari jeep) for a game drive to witness the sunrise over the Serengeti. The game drive will continue until early afternoon. Either, you’ll return to your accommodation for a hot lunch or take a packed lunch with you. Then, you’ll return through the Serengeti and park all your stuff then drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a game drive en route seeing more lions leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, and hyenas.

Main Destination: Serengeti National Park
Accommodation: Farm of Dreams Lodge
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, your safari guide will drive you directly to Ngorongoro Crater, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round supply of water and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to a wide variety of animals including herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalos, elks, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants. Another big card for this scenic national park is its dense population of predators, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. You’ll visit Lake Magadi, a large shallow alkaline lake in the southwest corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. Large numbers of flamingos, hippos, and other waterfowl can usually be seen here. In the late afternoon, you’ll drive to accommodation.

Accommodation: Suricata Boma Lodge – Mid-range lodge located less than 1hr drive from Ngorongoro Crater

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

The final day of your safari will begin as usual by 8:00 AM after a luscious breakfast. The destination for today is Arusha via Manyara National Park where you will have a half-day game drive. As you enter the national park by 9 AM, lush forests of acacia and mahogany trees begin to set the mood for what is waiting ahead. The game drive will go on till mid-afternoon with a small break for a picnic lunch. During the game drive watch out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, and the blue monkeys. Another spectacle of the Lake Manyara National Park is the tree-climbing lions, however spotting them is a game of luck. In the right season, you can see the shoreline turning pink with millions of flamingos flocking there. By mid-afternoon, you will branch out and head towards Arusha where you will be dropped off at your preferred location by about 6 PM. With an incredible experience and loads of memories to cherish, this is the time you bid goodbye to your team.
