This 2-day package is built for travelers already staying in Zanzibar who want two genuinely different, well-paced days out rather than booking separate tours one by one. There's no arrival day and no hotel included — we simply pick you up from wherever you're staying each morning and drop you back each evening. Day one is a land day: Stone Town's old town and spice farms, finishing with Prison Island's giant tortoises. Day two flips completely to the water: a full day aboard a traditional dhow on the Safari Blue route, snorkeling, dolphin spotting and a seafood lunch on a sandbank. Two days, two very different moods.

Day one stays on land and covers culture, spices and wildlife. Day two is entirely on the water. Both days start with pickup from your hotel and end with drop-off there in the evening.

You'll be picked up from your hotel mid-morning and driven to Stone Town, the island's historic old city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a guided walk through the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, the Old Slave Market memorial and the famous carved Zanzibari doors.

From there, a short drive takes you to a local spice farm to walk among cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom, with tastings along the way. In the afternoon, a short boat crossing brings you to Prison Island (Changuu), home to a colony of giant Aldabra tortoises, some over 100 years old, with time to snorkel the calm reef just offshore before your driver returns you to your hotel.

Today is entirely on the water. You'll be picked up early and driven south to Fumba for the full-day Safari Blue tour — a relaxed sailing trip aboard a traditional wooden dhow through Menai Bay's marine-protected waters, with snorkeling over coral reefs and a good chance of spotting dolphins along the way.

At low tide, the dhow anchors near a sandbank where a fresh seafood lunch is served, with time to swim and wade in shallow, warm water before sailing back in the late afternoon. Your driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.

Important to know before booking

This is an excursion package only — you'll need your own hotel booking for both nights. Tell us where you're staying and pickup times are arranged around it.
Pickup times depend on where you're staying — hotels further from Stone Town or Fumba may have slightly earlier start times.
Stone Town is a conservative, historic town — modest dress covering shoulders and knees is appreciated, especially near mosques and religious sites.
Bring swimwear, a towel and reef-safe sunscreen for both Prison Island and Safari Blue — snorkeling gear is provided on both days.
The two days can be run in either order, or on non-consecutive days if that suits your schedule better — just let us know when booking.
A Tanzania e-Visa is required for most nationalities and covers Zanzibar as well as the mainland — apply at immigration.go.tz at least 3 weeks before travel.
