3-Day Luxury Safari Ngorongoro Crater & Lake Manyara

Trip Overview

This 3-day safari is perfect for travelers with limited time who want to experience the beauty and wildlife of northern Tanzania in comfort and style.

You will visit Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Manyara Escarpment along the Great Rift Valley. The park is known for its breathtaking scenery and rich birdlife, with the alkaline soda lake attracting a wide variety of birds that thrive in its unique environment.

Your journey also includes a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. The crater offers an excellent chance to see the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the endangered black rhinoceros—all within a relatively small area.

This safari combines stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and luxury accommodation, offering a memorable and comfortable experience in a short time.

Day-by-Day Itinerary: 3-Day Luxury Safari Ngorongoro Crater & Lake Manyara

Day 1 : Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), our representative will be on hand to welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha. You’ll spend the night at the Mount Meru Hotel, a stunning property nestled at the base of Mount Meru in the heart of Arusha city.

Accommodation: Mount Meru Hotel

Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart from Arusha and drive west toward Lake Manyara National Park, enjoying beautiful views of the Great Rift Valley escarpment along the way.

Upon arrival, your game drive begins, and you will likely first encounter large troops of baboons near the park entrance. Lake Manyara is well known for its unique tree-climbing lions, often seen resting in the branches of acacia trees.

The park is centered around the shallow alkaline soda lake, which attracts a remarkable variety of birdlife. Thousands of flamingos can often be seen along the lakeshore, creating a stunning pink display. You may also spot yellow-billed storks, herons, and many other bird species, making this a paradise even for non-birdwatchers.

In addition to birds, the park is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and hippos, which are commonly seen in the water. The diverse landscapes—from open plains to lush forests—make the experience even more special.

A packed lunch will be served at a picnic site inside the park. In the late afternoon, you will continue with a short drive to the Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and an overnight stay at Kitela Lodge.

The crater is dotted with water sources and is home to nearly 30,000 animals, all يعيش within this naturally enclosed ecosystem surrounded by steep volcanic walls. As the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, Ngorongoro offers a truly unique safari experience. The crater walls rise approximately 610 meters from the floor, enclosing an area of about 259 square kilometers.

This remarkable destination is recognized as one of the “Eighth Wonders of the Natural World” and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It supports a rich concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, and the endangered black rhinoceros.

You will enjoy a packed lunch at the hippo pool picnic site, surrounded by the natural beauty of the crater.

After an extensive game drive, you will ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha, marking the end of your unforgettable safari adventure.
