4-Day Luxury Safari Northern Circuit Tour

Trip Overview

This 4-day luxury safari is designed for travellers with limited time who want to experience the highlights of Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit in comfort and style.

The journey begins in Tarangire National Park, a park famous for its large elephant herds and iconic giant baobab trees. It offers excellent game viewing and a true African wilderness experience.

You will also visit Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic and diverse park known as a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 500 bird species and the rare tree-climbing lions.

The safari concludes at the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, where you have a high chance of seeing the Big Five—elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard—all within a single natural setting.

This all-inclusive luxury safari combines comfort, convenience, and unforgettable wildlife encounters in just four days.

Day-by-Day Itinerary: 4-Day Luxury Safari Northern Circuit Tour

Day 1 : Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), our representative will be on hand to welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha. You’ll spend the night at the Mount Meru Hotel, a stunning property nestled at the base of Mount Meru in the heart of Arusha city.

Accommodation: Mount Meru Hotel

Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart for Tarangire National Park.

The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through it and serves as the main water source for wildlife during the dry season. Often called the “river of warthogs,” it attracts large concentrations of animals, especially in the dry months.

The landscape features dense elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forests. Tarangire is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, often seen gathering along the riverbanks. You may also encounter giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, while predators such as lions and leopards follow closely behind.

The park is also a paradise for bird lovers, with more breeding bird species recorded here than in almost any other place on Earth.

After a packed lunch and an extensive game drive, you will continue to the Ngorongoro Highlands for an overnight stay at Kitela Lodge.

Travel Time: Approx. 2–3 hours
Main Destination: Tarangire National Park
Accommodation: Kitela Lodge
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive.

The crater offers an excellent chance to see the endangered black rhino, as well as large populations of lions, wildebeest, zebras, and many other wildlife species. Often described as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken and unflooded volcanic caldera on Earth and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations, known for its incredibly high density of wildlife. While the area can be busy with other safari vehicles, the wildlife viewing is consistently outstanding in a truly unique natural setting.

In the late afternoon, you will ascend the crater and take a short drive to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay at Kitela Lodge.

Travel Time: Approx. 4–6 hours (crater descent, game drive & transfer)
Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater
Accommodation: Kitela Lodge
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After an early breakfast, you will take a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a game-viewing experience.

One of the first sightings is often large troops of baboons, which are commonly found throughout the park. Located between the Lake Manyara basin and the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park offers a beautiful variety of landscapes, including forests, open plains, and the lakeshore.

Lake Manyara National Park is well known for its rich biodiversity and was originally established to protect its famous elephant population. You may also encounter giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and a wide range of birdlife. The park is also known for its rare tree-climbing lions, which are occasionally spotted resting in acacia trees.

A packed lunch will be served at a designated picnic site inside the park. In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Arusha, marking the end of your safari journey.

Travel Time: Approx. 1–2 hours (Arusha ↔ Lake Manyara)
Main Destination: Lake Manyara National Park
Accommodation: No accommodation (End of tour)
Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
