The boat makes for Mnemba early, with a morning and afternoon snorkeling session either side of lunch.

You're picked up from your hotel and driven to the north coast, where a boat takes you out to the Mnemba Atoll Conservation Area. The reef here is protected and known for its clarity and coral health, and your guide will point out what to look for — reef fish, coral formations and, with some luck, green turtles that are regularly seen feeding in the area.

After the morning snorkeling session, the boat heads to a nearby beach for a relaxed lunch break, giving you time to dry off and rest before a second session on a different part of the reef in the afternoon. Snorkeling gear and guidance are included throughout, and the boat returns to the north coast in the late afternoon for your drive back to your hotel.

Basic swimming ability is recommended; life jackets are available for less confident swimmers.
Bring swimwear, a towel, a hat and reef-safe sunscreen — there's limited shade on the boat.
Turtle sightings are common at Mnemba but, like all wildlife, can't be guaranteed.
A Tanzania e-Visa is required for most nationalities — apply at immigration.go.tz at least 3 weeks before travel.
