Trip Overview

This 11-day safari and beach holiday offers the perfect combination of wildlife adventure and coastal relaxation in Tanzania.

You will experience breathtaking wildlife across some of the country’s most diverse landscapes, from open savannah plains to acacia woodlands. Along the way, you may spot lions resting in trees, elephants roaming freely, and a wide variety of animals thriving in their natural habitats.

A highlight of the journey is visiting the Ngorongoro Crater, a unique natural wonder formed from a collapsed volcano and home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including the endangered black rhinoceros.

To complete your experience, you will travel to Zanzibar Island, where you can relax and enjoy its stunning beauty. With its white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and tropical atmosphere, Zanzibar offers the perfect ending to your safari adventure.

Day-by-Day Itinerary: 11-Day Classic Safari & Beach Holiday

Day 1 : Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), our representative will be on hand to welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha. You’ll spend the night at the Gran Melia, a stunning property nestled at the base of Mount Meru in the heart of Arusha city.

Accommodation: Mtoni River Lodge

Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park.

The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through the area and serves as the main water source for wildlife during the dry season. Often called the “river of warthogs,” it attracts a wide range of animals, especially when water is scarce elsewhere.

Tarangire is known for its high concentration of elephants, with large herds often seen moving through the park or gathering near the riverbanks. The landscape is beautiful and distinctive, featuring scattered baobab trees, acacia woodlands, and open areas that make wildlife viewing easier.

You may also encounter giraffes, zebras, and other herbivores, often followed by predators such as lions and leopards. The park is also a paradise for bird lovers, with more breeding bird species recorded here than in almost any other place on Earth.

After lunch and a game drive, you will continue to the Ngorongoro Highlands, arriving in the late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay at Eileen’s Tree Inn.

Travel Time: Approx. 2–3 hours (Tarangire → Ngorongoro Highlands)
Main Destination: Tarangire National Park
Accommodation: Eileen’s Tree Inn (Mid-range lodge, 1–2 hours from Tarangire)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3-4: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and continue on to Serengeti National Park, enjoying game viewing along the way.

Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world, known for its vast open plains, incredible scenery, and rich wildlife populations. It is home to the highest concentration of plains game in Africa, offering unforgettable safari experiences throughout the year.

The park is especially famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration, one of the most remarkable natural events on Earth. Over one million wildebeest and around 200,000 zebras move across the Serengeti plains in search of fresh grazing. This movement is driven by seasonal rains, with herds heading south around October and November, and then moving north and west between April and May.

This powerful natural cycle continues year after year, as the animals follow ancient instincts that lead them across rivers, plains, and valleys in search of survival. The Serengeti is truly the heart of Africa’s safari experience, offering unmatched wildlife encounters and breathtaking landscapes.

In the late afternoon, you will arrive at your camp for dinner and an overnight stay at Embalakai Serengeti Camp.

Travel Time: Approx. 5–7 hours (Ngorongoro → Serengeti)
Main Destination: Serengeti National Park
Accommodation: Embalakai Serengeti Camp (Luxury tented camp in Central Serengeti)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you will depart from the Serengeti and drive toward the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, enjoying scenic landscapes and occasional wildlife sightings along the way.

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders and is often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its outstanding natural beauty and ecological significance. The crater boasts one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa, offering exceptional game viewing in a unique and breathtaking environment.

Within this विशाल volcanic caldera, you will find an incredible concentration of animals, including the famous Big Five. The crater is one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the endangered Black Rhinoceros, as well as large prides of lions and herds of Cape buffalo that can be seen throughout the year. While the area is popular and you may encounter other safari vehicles, the richness of wildlife and dramatic scenery make the experience truly unforgettable.

You will enjoy a packed lunch at a designated picnic site inside the crater, surrounded by stunning views and abundant wildlife.

In the late afternoon, you will ascend the crater and drive to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay at Eileen’s Tree Inn.

Travel Time: Approx. 3–4 hours (Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater)
Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater
Accommodation: Eileen’s Tree Inn (Mid-range lodge in Karatu)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park to Zanzibar(Stone Town)

After an early breakfast, you will depart for Lake Manyara National Park, enjoying a scenic drive as you head toward one of Tanzania’s most գեղեցիկ and unspoiled wildlife destinations.

Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its rich birdlife and its famous tree-climbing lions. The park lies along the dramatic western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, which forms a stunning backdrop to the landscape. To the east lies the shallow alkaline Lake Manyara, which expands and contracts with the seasons, attracting thousands of flamingos and other water birds, especially during the rainy season.

The park’s name is derived from the Maasai word “emanyara,” a plant traditionally used to build protective enclosures, or bomas, around homesteads. Its diverse habitats range from open savannah to lush groundwater forests, supporting a wide variety of wildlife. During your game drive, you may encounter giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, elephants, buffalo, and, if lucky, lions resting in the trees.

After enjoying a picnic lunch, you will drive back to Arusha in time for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town.

You will spend the night at Maru Maru Hotel, a comfortable mid-range hotel located in the heart of historic Stone Town.

Travel Time: Approx. 2–3 hours (Manyara → Arusha) + flight to Zanzibar
Main Destination: Lake Manyara National Park
Accommodation: Maru Maru Hotel (Mid-range hotel in Stone Town)
Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch

Day 7-10: Stone Town to Nungwi(North Coast)

After breakfast, you will enjoy a guided tour of Stone Town, exploring its rich history, winding alleys, and vibrant cultural heritage. Following the tour, you will drive to the northern coast of Zanzibar, heading toward the beautiful ساحل of Nungwi.

Nungwi is famous for its stunning white coral sand beaches that seem to glow even after sunset. Its expansive coastline offers excellent conditions for swimming and snorkeling in some of Africa’s most pristine, reef-rich waters. Unlike many other beaches on the island, Nungwi is less affected by dramatic tidal changes, making it ideal for all-day beach and water activities.

The area is also known for exceptional deep-sea fishing in the Indian Ocean, where you may catch species such as kingfish, dorado, yellowfin tuna, and even impressive striped marlin. For those seeking adventure, a wide range of activities is available, including guided walks, sunset dhow cruises, diving excursions, and parasailing. Alternatively, you can simply relax and enjoy the magical sight of traditional dhow boats sailing along the horizon at sunset.

You will spend the next four nights unwinding in this tropical paradise, with dinner and breakfast included, at Z Hotel.
