Trip Overview
Arusha National Park is a small, beautiful park near Arusha town in northern Tanzania. It’s just 45 minutes from Arusha city. The park covers 137 square kilometers and has forests, lakes, and grasslands.
Visitors can see animals like giraffes, zebras, and colobus monkeys. The park is great for bird watching with over 400 bird types. Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest mountain, offers a stunning backdrop.
Unlike other parks, Arusha allows walking safaris and canoeing. It’s perfect for a day trip, giving visitors a quick taste of Tanzania’s wildlife and scenery without long travel.
Itinerary
Morning
We start our day with a game drive in Ngurdoto Crater. We look for buffaloes and elephants eating grass. In the forest areas, we try to see black-and-white colobus monkeys jumping in the trees. We also see many giraffes eating leaves from tall trees. As we drive, we might spot zebras and different types of antelopes running across the grasslands.
Afternoon
After lunch, we keep driving through the park. We go to an area called “Little Serengeti”. Here, we see more animals like warthogs and baboons. We also look for leopards, but they’re hard to find. We drive near the Momella Lakes where we might see flamingos standing in the water. Throughout the day, we see many colorful birds flying around.
Evening
As the day ends, we leave the park with many good memories. We’ve seen lots of animals like giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and many types of antelopes. We’ve enjoyed beautiful views of Mount Meru and the lakes. It’s been a full day of seeing wildlife and enjoying nature in one of Tanzania’s nicest parks.
