The Lemosho route, approaching from the west, has the best views, with breathtaking landscapes in all directions.

Best Time to Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

The months of January through early March, as well as June through October, are ideal for climbing Kilimanjaro. It provides a   comfortable hiking conditions because of the clear skies, great views, and sunshine, however, the weather has the potential to change dramatically.

Kilimanjaro can be climbed at any time of year, but some months are better than others. We recommend climbing Mount Kilimanjaro during the driest months of the year. We avoid the months of April and November because they are the rainiest, making the trails more dangerous.

01. Machame Route

The most popular route to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro these days is Machame route, and for good reason. This trail offers stunning views, a reasonable challenge, and plenty of time to acclimate, making it a good choice for those who have a bit of extra time in their schedule.

02. Lemosho Route

The Lemosho Route is mostly regarded as the most beautiful of all the Kilimanjaro routes, It is one of the newer routes on the mountain, and it shares a portion of the same path as the Machame route, but it has a few advantages over Machame that make it worthwhile to consider, especially for travelers with extra time.

03. Marangu Route

The Marangu Route is Mount Kilimanjaro’s oldest and most well-known trekking route. It offers trekkers the classic Kilimanjaro climbing experience, with sweeping views and a wonderful hiking adventure all the way to Uhuru Peak’s summit.

04. Rongai Route

The Rongai route climbs Mount Kilimanjaro from the mountain’s northeastern side, close to the Kenyan-Tanzanian border. The rongai route has managed to preserve its wild, natural feel. The only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north is the Rongai route.

05. Umbwe Route

The Umbwe Route is ideal for those seeking a true climbing challenge. It’s a quiet, little-traveled path that can be challenging and rewarding at the same time. If you want to test yourself on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro away from the crowds found on the more popular trails, this is the route to take.

06. Northern Circuit Route

Being the newest route up Mount Kilimanjaro and due to the fact that it combines all of the best features of the other routes into one fantastic hike, This arguably the best Route. If you’re looking for beautiful scenery, plenty of solitude, a healthy challenge, and the chance to see wildlife. This is the best Choice for you.
